| trubles with voodoo I am running a pentium III at 550MHZ. I have a voodoo card installed ( was there when I got the CPU) and up untill now things have been smooth sailing. Yet yesterday I purchased a lexmark X75 Pirnt Trio printer. The software that came with the printer seems to work well, yet I have run into a snag, This printer software calls for 600x800 screen resolution(so that everything fits squarely on the monitor) and my voodoo card will not allow me to change the current settings (460x640). My monitor is a 15inch MAGNAVOX Enhanced VGA. With the printer software, I can do just about everything that it says except hit the print button (which is apparently below the screen limits). I have tried changing the display properties, reinstalling the voodooo drivers, and I am at a lost for what to do next. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. |

Which voodoo card do you have?
What is the maximun resolution your monitor supports?
Checkout what driver your monitor is using, it could be using "generic 640x480", which would limit you to that res. Providing your monitor will support 800x600 you could change the monitor driver to "generic 800x600" which would then let you choose that resolution.

Checking the device manager, I am running a VooDoo3 3500 TV, my guess is from 1998? The monitor that shows on the device manager is Standard VGA 640x480. How do I change the driver? I have had this monitor hooked to my laptop and it seemed to work well at the 600x800 resolution, but the laptop doesn't have a usb port to run the printer so I could not use it. |

Right click on the monitor in device manager. Click properties. Goto the driver tab, click update driver. Click continue. Select display a list of known drivers, then click next.
You will now be presented with a list of monitor drivers. Now select show all hardware and a list of all monitor drivers becomes available. Select standard monitor types. You can now choose a monitor profile that fits your monitors maximum resolution. You can also try "Plug and Play Monitor", as this setting works with well with most decent monitors.
Hope this helps,
