Gonna put a HDD from a P2 (Win 98)
In with a ECSK7S5A Pro, 128 PC133, XP2000+, New Box,

Will it boot?

Should I of created a poll or run a book on this I ask myself?

Run a book?

Well, I think you have a 50 50 chance. Win 98 is more agreeable to this than win2K or XP. I would venture to say 2K or XP would give you immediate BSODs. If you want, before you start, you can clear out the drivers before hand. I tried to search for a thread I posted before that tells what the two files are, but I can't find it. It was something like drvdll.bin. I can't remember, but I am sure someone here can post those two file names.

edit: These are the files: Drvdata.bin & Drvidx.bin
Delete them before starting this. These are the driver files that include motherboard driver info.

I've had it work to just delete all the hardware in the device manager,and install the new MOBO+drivers.Much better to do the clean install though IMO

I am voting nope just because the board is so new, 98 will not be able to adjust.

i THINK win2k would be fine with this setup, but i THINK that win98 would be too. give it shot and let us know
