how to delete multiple emails in hotmail?
got a friend who gets spammed an awful lot these days and i was wondering(he was) how you can select multiple emails to delete rather than selecting one at a time. i dont see an "check all" option like in yahoo.

There is a little box at the top i think right next to the top of the From field.
Just checked and there is.
JkrohnSignatures blow hard
If your signature contains an ad of any kind, congratulations, you're on my ignore list.

I just click on the first one, hold down the shift key, click on the last one and hit the delete key. This is in OE not on the hotmail site.

If it's all spam I'd elect to block it. Might get rid of some that way.

In Hotmail there is a wee box to the left of each post if you click on this you will see a tick or check mark appear then go to the top of the list and select from the two buttons that say Delete or Block.
Blocking is unfortunately limited to 250 Addresses per account and the filters don't always work as well as MS would have you believe.
I have selected to block: big, penis, young, mortgage, dvd, teen, porn etc till all my options were exhausted and still the crap pours in.
I used to use that e mail address for ID on some sites and now I am finding especially in the last few months that the e mail I am using here is getting hit loads and loads by spam
I am probably going to alter it's filters to block all e mail and just open it when I want to sign onto a new site

This is probably too obvious, but whenever you use that email to sign up somewhere make sure there aren't any boxes checked that allow your address to be sent out to special offer sites.
Knock on wood. I rarely receive spam in any quantity.

Hotmail has a great anti-spam filtering agent: the Junk Mail Box. Set it to EXCLUSIVE. Now, any sender not in your Hotmail address book will automatically go the Junk Mail folder.
Just check the Junk Mail Folder for those that you want to add to the address book or otherwise want to save and read. They can be easily transferred. Now, even if you have pages of junk e-mail, there is one key EMPTY THIS FOLDER!
Adding people to the address book or to the safe list is fairly simple and quick. It can be done with a few keystrokes.
It great to know when I go to my INBOX, it's mail from people or subscriptions I know. Everyting else goes to the JUNK MAIL folder.
It even downloads to OE in that manner.

My little 11 year old brother gets about 25 e-mails a day. All of them are either sex related or other types of spam. He signed up for some newsletters like lego and other kid news letters and now he gets adult related material .
Hotmail has a problem with spam. I usually get about 10 spams per day. Luckily they go into the Junk Mail folder.

I get more spam in my "personal" Hotmail box than I do in my "public" or spam box. The best I can figure is that it's those e greeting cards! When they get sent, they know if they have a live wire on both ends!
