Can anyone tell me how to disable onboard AGP on this mother board? I am trying to install a GeForce4 MX 440. I cant seem to disable or uninstall the onboard. Ever time I reboot it reinstalls the S3 pro savage. And further more I have the agp card in the slot and it does not recognize its even there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have not used this exact Intel i815 chipset motherboard, but an option often exists in the BIOS to disable the onboard graphics accelerator.

The Ms8157E actually uses the VIA KM266 chipset. Typically the way to disable the onboard AGP video of these boards is to install an external AGP card into the AGP slot. Is this MX 440 AGP? Some boards have an option in Advanced Bios Setup called Primary Graphics Adapter. Here you can select PCI, onboard VGA, or AGP.

Yes it is the mx 440. I have tried to just install but every time I do it just wants to reinstall the on board. Right now I have the geforce in the agp slot and it doesnt even recognize it. and right now I believe in my bios I have the setting to agp. I dont believe I saw the option of on board vga though. I will quick check

If the integrated VGA is still there, the AGP card hasn't been detected. Look whether it's seated all the way down. You need to push HARD, and make sure the board aligns correctly with the case to even let it.
