| how to use partition magic
I have a 20 gig drive with only ME on it. I want to create another partition for XP Pro. I have partition magic 7.0. I installed disks, but didnt understand how to make move/resize partions, etc. to make another partition. Also, what is the new partition called, unallocated? I have no clue how to use the program. Do I resize the first partion or move it or what? Thanks |

You've got to resize your existing partition first.
It's really pretty simple. Just click on the partition or space you want to work with, and then click on the "operations" menu (I think that's the one). It gives you all sorts of options like resize, move, delete, label, amongst others. Resize your existing partition, then click Apply. (at the lower right-hand corner) Then click on the gray unallocated space. Back to the operations menu, and I think it gives you an option to create a partition. It'll let you specify what file system you want, what size, etc. After you're done with that, click Apply again. After that you'll have to reboot.
Edit: I'll go check it out on my own machine to see if what I posted is correct. |

yup,
Go back into partition majic and delete partition. I think it will ask you what you want to do with the space used for that partition. Either incorporate it into the existing one or add another one..
Hope this helps..
Powerquest used to have a help section on their site explaining this better then i am..
Luck..
