error message please help!!!

I'm not sure what happened, but now when I start my computer, my splash screen shows up, then I get a black screen that prints:

L 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 99

repeatedly!

Can anyone tell me what this means?

btw, I also have reason to believe that my roommate may have tampered with my computer somehow...If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I had linux installed, but I reformatted and erased everything off my C drive. Strange thing is, the dual-boot screen still showed up even though I had erased everything. Could that have been a contributing factor? And what does it mean?

Nevermind....

Probably will require a re-partition, format, and OS install. It is a likely a problem with your MBR.

It just displays that on the screen. It only gives the single startup beep signifying that everything is fine.

I've been booting into windows fine up until today. Is there a possibility that anyone could have tampered with it?

You guys had the Linux discussion before I was able to post, as I had several browser windows open.

You likely have an MBR problem. May require re-partitioning the drive.

Can you give an explanation for my having an MBR problem? Or do those just happen?

Also, why did the dual boot screen still show up even after I re-formatted?
