windows media player-nero

i got a wierd problem for you guys to help me solve if you would
im on xp pro and one of 3 things happened to my burner ......i cant burn and in windows media player when i click copy to cd it tells me device not found and wont burn well it worked fine 2 weeks ago but heres the thing i also had a demo of nero as well......it expired on me im thinking maybe when nero expired it did something to keep me from burning
i did go in to my.... gpedit.msc and did have the built in windows burner disabled but of course i enabled it when i found this problem.....anyone know what i can do or what has caused this problem...was it nero or?????

So currently you have no other burning program except the windows integrated burning?

If so, you might want to check ms kb for help on re-enabling it.

I think nero suggest the imapi cdburning to be disabled when nero is installed, perhaps it disables it if it's enabled - I don't know since I don't use xp's burning feature.
