That's odd, I remember having scandisk program.. But upon searching there isn't such thing as 'scandisk.exe' on my hd.
And ms doesn't want to tell anything about it.
Why do you need the log file?

Hi
yes in w2k its called differently, I think chkdsk or something
I need it to see what files it damaged when it screwed up my hdd
I have a 200gb hdd I partitioned it into two partitions of 100gb to be safe against the 137gb problem and guess what it still screwed me, I hate this

Well, it doesn't excatly go that way.
chkdsk.exe was way back in dos times, it was replaced by scandisk.exe on windows. But it seems too that scandisk has been ditched and they went back to chkdsk (that's the only disk checking tool I found, and perhaps the gui is what one sees on tools menu).

That is what ms knows about chkdsk, but it's only for server products.

If you need chkdsk information logged even if a chkdsk is error free then try the following command...
C:\>chkdsk d: /f>chkdsk.log
replace d: with the driver letter you prefer to check. In this example a chkdsk.log file will be created in teh root of C:

He needed the log file from previous chkdsk. So without specifically telling chkdsk to create a log everytime run it isn't created.
Conclusion: There is no log file of what happened.
