Unknown Hard Error

Hello, I have been having a few problems with my computer. First, it was making a lound noise for a couple weeks and then it stopped. Now it freezes all the time and I keep getting an unknown hard error message. Sometimes it just pops up on the screen and other times it appears on a blue screen.

I have an Abit KT7A Raid Motherboard
512 MB Ram
Windows XP

I'm not sure what else I have to add but I will answer any questions about the computer.

Thanks,

sapphy

Well if your having hard drive errors what Hard drive you have might help us out a bit and if you was hearing loud noises that doesnt sound very good. There are so many reason as to why your hd would do that Cooling is one that I know and the other not enough power. Pretty much give us a complete spec of your system. whats your addons your power supply your hd.

Hello, I have:

40 gig Maxtor
20 gig Maxtor
80 gig WD
300 watt power supply
Liteon 48x burner
Plextor 24x burner

I've had this setup for almost a year now, this is the first problem I've had.

Actually, I haven't heard the noise in a while but the unknown hard error keeps popping up. The computer will start up and load but then it will restart itself. When it's about to restart I can hear the hard drives working and the red light stays on. Also when it's about to restart, everything freezes.

Thanks,

sapphy
