| Stopping print wizards
Okay, earlier today I had made a ditital photo of something and I wanted to print it out. So I opted to print the picture. Up came a wizard asking me if I want to adjust settings for this picture. Dummy me says ya, i want a decent print of this so I can see my writing really clear. okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy so it does the job righto..
But now I CANT STOP THE STUPID WIZARD!
So everytime I go to print something. i hit print button. then i get the dialog box saying that x page of x is now printing.
suppose to start printing at this point.
but nooooooooooooo
It gives me this other big dialog box asking me if i want to change some other settings and I must click print again!
So how do i stop this? I looked in printer preferences but I didn't see it.
XP Pro
cheapo espon C42UX
TIA
Edit: just now printing anotehr document and does it, its like a print preview document dialog box that comes up and i must click print again for it to start printing. |

I assume you have a small icon in systray that's epsons software. Kill it and it should not popup anymore
I have the exact same model - and it's pretty lousy printer.

Yes i do have the little icon, but no i can't kill it.
one i got print jobs going and two there is no option to kill the icon, it goes away when print jobs are finished.
I just want that second dialog box to disappear when im doing print jobs.
For examples. I have 3 copies of the same file being printed. normally you click print and off it goes and doesn't ask you for any input.
After one is finished printing, it REQUIRES user input to print so I have to click the print button on that dialog box. doesn't give me a choice. |

Try going Start, Settings and Printers.
Right click CU42 and click Properties. See if there is an option for print preview probably under General tab - If there is, turn it off.
I think the icon that muno refered too is the epson status monitor which I believe is a green icon. The icon you refer to is just the printer queue.
You should be able to remove the Epson Status monitor from the startup folder to stop it perminately, or right click the icon and click exit. You may even need to go to Task Manager to kill it.
I dont have a c42, I have a photo890, but I had similar problems - and it worked for me |
