| WinFast TV 2000 XP Deluxe - No Sound Recording ??
Hey everyone...
I just bought a Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Deluxe and I seem to have a problem recording sound...
Firstly, the driver installation kept rebooting my PC. Thanks to everyone who answered to the question about this in the other thread... it helped me heaps !!
Finally, after installing the updated drivers off the Leadtek website, I tried to use the FM and TV mode on the card... They both work extremely well. The only problem is that I cannot record sound with the software... In FM mode, it says that it 'Cannot open Recording Device', and in TV mode, it just records the video part, without audio. I am running the audio through my on-board sound card (SiS 7012). I have plugged in the audio out into the line-in of my sound card, but it still doesn't pick up my sound card as a recording device. In FM mode, it actually has no devices listed in the Audio Device listbox. In TV mode, it lists the sound card, but when I select it, the listbox for Audio Recording Line is empty...
Can someone please help me out with this ???
Thanks in advance...
My system is:
*P4 - 2GHz
*256 MB DDR RAM
*64 MB GeForce 2 MX 200
*40 GB HDD
*On-Board Sound Card (SiS 7012) |

This is some weak troubleshooting. Here's the fix I think:
"The Audio is not recorded when I capture an AVI file using the TV 2000/XP capture program.
It is actually the Sound Card that will capture the Audio portion of the AVI files. The TV tuner capture application will allow you to capture both by syncing the Audio and Video together. But the sound card will actually capture the sound.
If you do not record the Audio when you are capturing Video Clips, you want to make sure that the sound card's Line In mixer is setup to Record audio. Sometimes they are set for Playback only. To Check this, click on Start - Accessories - Entertainment (or Multimedia), in the Windows Volume Control, go to Options then Properties. In here click on the Recording Bullet. Below you should see the Mixers that are set to record make sure that the Line In is checked and click on OK. Then make sure that it is not muted." |

Yep, that fixed it. I also figured out my mic problem. The TV program can't be running if you want to use the mic. Everytime I want to use the mic I have to go into the volume control and make sure "mic" is selected.
I got no help anywhere on this issue... had to do it myself :-P. |

I have had the same problem too, my TV function works but the FM does not work at all. All I get is the "Radio Device Not Found".
Also when I first installed the drivers, the winfast enterainment centre program did not install, I had to point the program directly to the drivers.
If anyone can get the radio to work, any help will be much appreciated. |

Hi,
Not too sure have u resolve the problem for no recording sound. Anyway, i am facing same problem but manage to resolve it by the following method. Maybe u can try it, if you are still have the problem.
Go Start/Program/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume control
Select Option/Properties/Recording.
Select 'CD Audio' from <show the following volume control>.
Enable the recording from 'CD Audio'
Activate the WInfast RVR.
Ensure <mute> is not selected
<Audio Recording Line> , select 'CD Audio'
<Master Stream>, select 'Video' |
