Internet Explorer "Page Cannot Be Displayed" on secure/passworded sites.

Hi everyone.

Here's a problem that's been vexing me for quite some time, and I don't remember how it started.

I have IE6, fully updated to the most current version, 128-bit encryption and all. Whenever I attempt to visit any site that requires a password popup, the popup never appears, and I get the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error.

Now, this is where you can all throw rocks and bricks and various other heavy objects at me, but I also have AOL, and the Internet Explorer with AOL does not have the same problems. The password popup appears fine, and if I enter the username and password in there and tell IE to remember them, then I can go over to the OTHER non-AOL internet explorer and access the sites just fine.

I own a Dell Inspiron 2650. I've considered an uninstall and reinstall of IE, but I can't even figure out how to do that, or if it's even possible.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Prompt for username and password is selected, my security settings are at the default Medium level.

I also checked the advances setting and made sure all the SSL and the one TLS box are checked, but I still get the error.

I honestly have no idea what else it could be.
