I cannot access my CDRW. XP-PRO tells me:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Is there a way to delete the problem in the registry to solve this or must I re-install Win XP?
Thanks, Don

EZ CD creator is third party software, probably tweaked the drivers, or registry on install.
can you do a "system restore" to before you had the problem?
If not try the control panel/performance and maintence/view system information, the system properties window
select the hardware tab, open device manager
click the plus sign on the dvd/cd rom drives
highlight the drive you are having problems with
right click on properties..should say device is working properly, or no drivers installed ,, etc
Make sure the pop up window at the bottom says "Use this device (enable)
Click the driver tab at the top to update or roll back the driver.
YOur last option is to click the trouble shoot tab and follow the directions. |
