Well, that sounds more like your CPU than anything. I don't think that your case could get up that high. That is about the hottest an Athlon can go up to before it would kill itself. What heatsink/fan do you have over the CPU? |

No, no, no....I mean the big one that is over where the CPU is. I am sure the case temperatures will be fine once you get that CPU cooled down some. |

alright, all i see now are 3 fans, 1 big one is attached to the back of the case, a small blue one that looks like it is attached to the mobo, then another big black one on the frount of the case near the bottom. |

Well, you need to get a better heatsink/fan...the one that is connected to the mobo. If you have a bunch of money to spend I would reccomend getting a Thermalright SLK-900...it costs around $50.00. Then you would get a fan. I would suggest the Vantec Tornado or the Thermaltake Smartcase Fan 2. Now if you don't have a bunch of money to spend I would reccomend getting the Volcano 9 or the Volcano 11. The V11 is better but, the V9 should be sufficient in cooling that 2000. The V11 you can get at www.svc.com (great place to get cooling supplies for cheap) for around $30. The V11 and V9 both come with fans already unlike the more expensive SLK-900. BTW, who made this computer? |

I'm gonna assume that the small blue one is the one mounted over the CPU, and that the chipsets on the motherboard use passive cooling so will not have fans.
You need to make sure that the CPU heatsink that is attached to the motherboard is making proper contact with the CPU in order to transfer away the heat. It could be that it got knocked lose or pushed off center, thereby affecting the heat transfer. You also need to ensure that the fan mounted to that heatsink is working and spinning properly (at the correct RPM) and isn't slowing down as it fails. While it may be spinning when powered on, it might not be spinning fast enough to move enough air across the heatsink.
At those temperatures, I wouldn't run it too long until you get this figured out. |
