Screen capture?

I'm trying to capture a screenshot while playing an mpeg movie. I want to photoshop my girlfriend into a movie scene still pic (Office Space, the "OH" face). Yes, I'm an odd gift giver.

All the programs I've dl'd from download.com dont' capture the mpeg video, they just get Windows Media Player and all that, but no movie..

Anyone know of a progam that'll do what I want? Help!

pressing Print Screen and pasting it into Paint, or another graphic editor should fit your needs.

here's what i understand:
you are playing a movie, and then you are hitting pause at the required scene, and are trying to capture only that screen?

if so, try snagit to capture a 'region'. do read the help to capture a region, the procedure to capture a region is not too obvious IMO.

I tried SnagIt and it worked, but when I open the pic and try to edit everything "around" the image (like the player), it doesn't move the capture. Example:

But if I edit it to only the top left corner, I only get the right eye and half the mouth. Basically I want to have just the image capture and print it, not the image of the player and the image.. that'll look cheesy. And I've got enough of that on my own.

i'm not sure what u captured. if u captured a 'region', u should not have to edit it to get rid of the image of the player.

this is what i do to capture a region:
1> Input -> Region
2> Output -> File
3> ctrl+shift+p changes the mouse pointer to a crosshair
4> click and hold on the topleft corner of the region that i wanna shoot
5> drag a square to select the region
6> release mouse button to finish capture
7> save it to file

that's how i just captured this 'Post Quick Reply' window

looks like editing a window screenshot with photoshop is a good option.
