CD burning problem

I have burned a CD with image files. Explorer window shows the files with their sizes. But when I tried to copy them into hard drive few files (not all) don't get copied and I get following message "ERROR PERFORMING INPAGE OPERATION." Also attempt to open/view those files has been unsuccessful. I have been searching the web for a solution unsuccessfully. Many tried to explain how this error happens, but nobody seems to have offered any solution. If there is no solution, that is, those files cannot be recovered then at least is there anything I can do in future while burning CD-R so that it does not happen again? Could it be because of CD burning software? I used Easy CD Creator. I will highly appreciate all comments.

Thanks. Henry

Ok...have to cover the basics so dont think im talking down to you...
1. Did you make sure disk is clean and unscratched?
2. did you blow out cdrom/CDRW?
3. did you try copying just one file at a time?
4. did you try another computer just to be sure it isnt something with yours?

You might try to slow the burner down.If you're burning at 40+ that is incredibly fast, could just be speed.
Or like JPMiller said dust and scratches.

I had a similar error in the past when I tried to burn mp3's. Sometimes the encoding on just one file can be corrupt, and that ruins the disc. Usually that error stopped the burning process.. but if it doesn't, the table of contents that tells windows the file names and sizes would be um.. bonkers.

If you're running XP, make sure there's a preview for each image. If not, that image might be corrupted.
