Can i do a full clean install of XP from an upgrade disk?

If you have the install media from an upgradeable Win OS version, yes you can. You will be prompted to insert the CD/diskette during the XP installation process.

i was able to. it seems like if you have an OS already installed you can.

You either need an OS installed, or an original MS OS cd to insert after the prompt.
