Error when viewing?

I'm have WinXP Home on my new computer and Pro on my old computer, so, my problem may be just with WinXP, because it never did this with Win98... okay, lol the problem is:

Whenever I try and view a .swf file while viewing an .html file, it gives me the Microsoft Error dialog box asking if i want to send the error report and then just shuts down IE! It's getting kind of annoying because I'm doing a website and I would like to see how the whole thing looks instead of having to upload the files each time just to view it.

If you don't get what just said above, read this next part:
In .html documents you have images, and they are viewed through the .html document. So instead of it being an image, it's a .swf file. An object.

New Comp:
2.8 GHz
1.0 GB RAM

Old Comp:
900 MHz
512 MB RAM

Please help! Any kind of feed back at all would be great!

Sounds like the swf codec is messed up, if you re-install IE that may fix it.
Or there are swf alternatives.

I have some bad news. I tried installing IE again, still the same problem. So the I went to uninstall IE and I must've uninstalled the wrong thing because now I can't even install the IE Service Pack 6 anymore. It says there already is a newer version on the system. But when I go to install updates and such, it asks that I have IE Service Pack 6 So now I have two problems. And I do not want to switch browsers, IE is the best for me when it works

Any other ideas what I could try?

Oh and I also tried the Swish Player, still same problem.

Also an additional question, is there any way I could rid the computer of IE and start over fresh with IE?
