problems with sound in win2k
I searched but couldent find any thing relavent to my problem. my sound in win2k stopped working. no matter what app I play it with.
it acts like its going to play, then the app freezes. (takes less than a second). I reinstalled my drivers for sound card (gametheater XP) I rolled back to older ones, upgraded to newer ones, nothing is working. I'm wondering if something in windows is messed up, or perhaps my sound card it self is wacked (the rear outputs dont work correctly)
Any ideas?

I have this soundcard and have been through a couple of them, my problem was one of the pins had got bent on the cable - this had stoppped the sound working for me, I guess you might wanna check that out. Otherwise make sure all you settings in Win2k report that it should be playing sound and another thing to try is different speakers cause it may not be your soundcard.

But when the graphic eq display it self freezes in audio programs.. the sound never gets a chance to play. (the speakers work, cause if you unplug the GT from the comp and have external sound (from say my sattilite dish) the sound comes out just fine.... I'm wondering if I should reformat again.....

I've always felt there was a "legal bubble" developing. The government is running trials up into the millions of dollars just the keep federal lawyers busy.
