| WTF is with this Stupid CD?!?!
All I want to do is install the frickin game.
It worked fine at a friends house (yes it was mine but he just needed it for the expansion) but I get home and it wont install.
Cab error this and Cab error that. It's just a different error every time I try ot install it. It is almost done too. So close. WTF. Some times it's on the first CD sometimes it's on the 2nd CD. I know if it can make it thru the first CD it has to be somethin stupid if it cant make it thru it again. WTF. WTF. WTF. I don't get it.
What could be the problem. I've tried it in 2 drives. 1CD RW and 1DVD drive. WTF WTF WTF. Can I emphasize again? WTF... |

It may have inadvertently been scratched, but that would mean the error would be in the same place all the time. You could d/l Alchohol 120 and see if you could create a image of the CD. That has worked for me.

Alcohol is way better than Nero. Nero has to pay attention to copyright stuff. Alcohol will make images/burn of everything. |

Well, if it works fine on your friends CDROM drive, it could be possible your CDROM drive is dying. The laser on CDROM drives begin to weaken after a period of time and causes read errors as you mentioned above...

Try ripping the CD to an image and running it from a virtual cd rom drive. I play all my games that way, never need to put cds in =) |

But aren't there limitations when using Virtual Drive and other programs alike? I've tried it before and noticed that certain CDs with protection cannot be properly ripped.. |

Well, length of usage is not so important sometimes. You could have a brand new drive or any other hardware malfunction in a very short time. *A lemon*
Anyways, is this happening on this particular CD only or has this been a problem with other CDs or DVDs as well? |
