I have a Promise Ultra100 TX2 controller card that needs a bios update. The Promise update instructions say I need to use a DOS bootable folppy to do the flash. Since i'm running
Win. 2000 Pro., I cant make a dos floppy. I went to bootdisk.com and downloaded what they said would work but it didn't.
I need a pro to lead me down the right path!
THANKS |

Try one of the 98 disks. 2000 won't work for that |

homebuilt,
I use the same card and originally had problems trying to update the drivers. The pc I use the card on is at work. I can give you the details tomorrow. Hold off until I post back. You may do some things you don't need to do. |

If you know anyone with a w98 machine they can make you a floppy easily. They would just format it and use the "copy system files only" option.

I'm pretty sure you can make a 9x bootable floppy with a W2k machine simply by right clicking on the floppy in my computer, selecting format, and then checking the "make bootable" box.
I can't say for sure since I don't have a floppy in this box but I'm pretty sure that's the way it works.
