epox 8rda+ post code 1d help needed

i am attempting to install a cd burner in my machine. all went well with the physical install, but when i fired it back up,i get a "BEE_BOO" sounding siren and a post code of either 1d or Id.

i disconnected the power supply, and all cables running to the burner,so its back to its original state. i also cleared the cmos. still getting the siren and the post code. i watched the code and it goes past the memory code(C1),but stops when it gets to 1(or I)d. i looked in the manual and cannot find any info on this post code.

its a epox 8RDA+/xp1500/512mb ram/win xp pro.

any thoughts??

thanks,eh??

brad

edit: i have since found out that something is a bit goofy with my case fans. i rehooked the case fan up (smartfan) to its original setup, and i cant get any power to the machine whatsoever. wheni hit the power button,i can see the cpu fan turn the slightest amount, but nothing else.

so i hooked up the same fan directly to the mobo, which i assume is the way it was supposed to be in the first place. then i get the above post code. the original(and functional) way i had that fan originally was a jumper from one of the many power outlets i have floating around inside. the jumper came with the case fan and worked fine till tonite.

getting confuseder the further i go

My advice, if you bought it from newegg. is to send it back and they will refund you and you can choose a new mobo. I had this motherboard for about a month, it just like falls to pieces after that. I sent rma'd it and they didnt carry that mobo anymore so just get a new one, it will save you so much trouble. That motherboard has so many issues.
