Hi,
Have you guys experienced this problem, when you installed any of the detonator drivers and play any game the sound garbles up. Has anybody solved this problem. This is my computer spec?
Elitegroup Mainboard VIA chipset
AMD K6 3 400
NVIDIA Geforce 2 400mx 64MB
60Xmax CD Rom drive
192 MB RAM
Sound Blaster Live sound card
SCSI 6.4GB HDD Hi Top Gun,
Please keep the conversation in one topic. No double posting. I merged the two thread that you had created, so the one in Vid Cards will no longer be available (its responses are here). http://www.techimo.com/forum/misc.php?action=faq
Thanks
daveleau

Been there, done that. I'm now at Direct x 8.1 with updated drivers. I even changed:my video card from NVIDIA Vanta to Geforce 2, my soundcard for YAMAHA to soundblaster live, my OS from ME to XP. It even persisted before I have changed my comp. specs. |

I have a similar problem with a client's machine, with pretty much the same specs as you do. The difference is that this machine's sound will stop working 3 seconds into the game, and I would be forced to reboot the machine via the reset button.
However, there is one solution I heard about that works for some people with less severe problems, like yours. See if this helps.
In your BIOS, ENABLE the 15-16MB Memory Hole. Save and reboot. |
