I recently did troubleshooting on a clients system, he had recently purchased an external usb hard drive (for data back-up only). Now what he claims is that he had done several file back-ups and he accidentally unplugged the drive at the usb port and when he plugged it back in his (g drive was gone) I can locate it in device manager, but not in explorer or my computer. When I go to device manager I am able to go to properties and settings for the drive but I cant assign it a drive letter, however I can specify last drive letter (but the settings never stay) also the scsi tab is check marked. Can anyone tell me how to assign a drive letter to this drive. He is using windows Me.
