Recently when I powerup I get a single beep approximately every 3 secs and no display on moitor. This has occurred about 3 times. I blowed dust off the video card and cleaned it with a paint brush which fixed the problem. Last night system poweredup ok and shortly after cursor and screen froze. Pressing 'cntl, halt, delete' did nothing. Microsoft optical mouse light went out. Shut down and powered up. Single beep every 3 secs and no display occurred. Keyboard and mouse not powering up. Cleaning and reseating video card did'nt help. Cleaned dust from end of memory near CPU and reseated memory. That fixed the problem. I'm wondering if my MOB is dying.

Not sure who's BIOS your Gigabyte board uses, but once you find out, you should be able to google search for the beep error codes for that particular BIOS.
On an old Asus board, I got the single beep/3 seconds apart when some ram went dead.
