It's just using the same wall jack as my cable box.. can I move it into my bedroom if I want to? I have the same channels in there as in my "dining area" but I want more room out here.
Can I just plug it into the room outlet and it'll sense it's a modem? Thanks!
You can hook the modem to any cable outlet in your home. One thing to think about though is the more splitters in your line the slower your cable connection will be, as it is best to run the modem off the first spliter on the cable line if you have more then one splitter in line.
Sweet, thanks for the info. I've only got one to split, either the one in the living room or the bedroom. Wherever it is, it'll have the modem and TV on it. I've got a router for both computers.. still average 1.5 when I test my speed. And that's without AOL optimized.
just be sure that any and all splitters you have are the proper rated ones and no booster is involved, its best if the modem is on the line first with a two-way spliter, and the other outlets on another splitter after that.
