I bought an external storage enclosure kit (Back-upQ) and fitted my hard drive from my old PC in it. According to the user guide it should install automatically in Win2k pro without the need for drivers from the CD install disk. it connects via a USB 2 port).
When I connect it to the new PC and started it up, it recognized the new hardware and a message came up saying the software about to install does not contain a Microsoft digital signature, there is no guarantee it will work with windows. I click the continue install button anyway and it asks for the CD install disk? I put in the CD and nothing happens. An icon then appears in the system tray showing that no drives are detected.
In the system info under problem devices, storage / volume is listed, with the error code 28.
The annoying thing is that when I connected it to a system using winME it installed with no problem at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My system spec:
