problem with infineon pc133 ram

hi all. I am having a problem with ram. I have a Kinetiz 7t legend QDI motherboard (k7v8363) amd processor 1gig, geforce 2 pro, AC' 21 onboard sound (i know its weak *chuckle* but shes all i got) The RAM I have is Infineon pc133-222-520 there is another number on it also hys64v322206u-7-c2. I had winXP installed and hated it (more comfortable with win98) So i formatted and installed win98 Now it is only booting with 64mb instead of 256mb. I had read about docmem to test my mem and it says everything is good and reads also at 256mb. can anyone help me figure out why its not booting at 256mb? (i tried the search but didnt find any problems like mine) I would be so very thankfull!!

its showing in the bios as 64m? but in windows as 256?

And youre sure it was 256 in the bios with w98?

could it be possible that it is the newer pc133 that wont work at pc100 speeds and that is why it is giving you a misreading?

to start your OS doesn't have anything to do with your bios they are 2 seperate issues. If its not being read as 256 in the bios then somewhere your having issues with eithe the ram or your bios or even the bios settings

you can try D/L the latest bios from the QDI site and flashing your bios to see if that solves the problem or if you have any other 256mb sticks of ram you might swap it out and see if it works. Might even try to change the slot its in?? it doesn't make sense to me that it shows as 256 in win and not in the bios usually it would be the other way around
