special drivers for dell inspiron 8600 w/ geforceGo5200??

My friend just got a new computer. She wiped it clean and installed a new OS from scratch. Now I have never had a problem installing nvidia drivers before... (seriously... it's not that hard )

however, I cannot get the drivers to work on this new laptop. I'm curious if it has something to do with the laptop having the extended viewing screen or something.

any suggestions are welcome.

thanks
-Z

What OS and what drivers? Was it the OS provided with the system?

I usually suggest trying the Dell drivers first.

You should be able to get drivers from Dell by typing in her "system tag" number. I have seen it before where they OEMs..like Dell..have different drivers and they regular driver from the manufacturer wont work. Have seen disclaimers on some manufacturers website about it.

try here

(I think their server could be busy, cuz link is good but I had to try it a few times etc)
