hey all, recently picked up a plextor 708a dvd burner (firmware 1.03) but im having nothing but problems so far. whats happening is when i go to burn a dvd video, the burn will get to say 15 or 30 or 70 percent done (its quite random) and simply stop responding, no error messages, my computer doesnt freeze. no buffer underrun errors, the burn simply stops, i am using nero 5.5.10.42 as recommended on the cdfreaks forums since some other versions have issues with the 708a. the media is tdk dvd+r, which is recommended by plextor, and as far as i can tell no one else has problems with this media. DMA is enabled for the burner, and my aspi is 4.71.2 ive tried other media with the same results. i just formatted my hdd and have nothing installed, so i am completely open for suggestion, since i have posted this problem on numerous other forums and no one has responded.

DMA mode enabled
apsi version 4.71.2
tdk dvd+r (RICOHJPN01)
dvdxcopy platinum 3.2.1 (for ripping only, i have the same problems when i use it to burn, hence trying nero)
