Unmountable Boot Error?

Unmountable Boot Error?

I have a new build that is giving me lots and lots of stress. Windows is installed and all the drivers. When booting up it Blue Screens me with this error-"unmountable boot error". WTH is that? Can someone help or offer advice? TIA.

Specs are:

Biostar M7NCD nForce2 mobo
XP2500+ CPU
CoolerMaster Jet7 CPU cooler
1GB Kingston HyperX PC3500 DDR
80GB Maxtor HDD
Abit Siluro FX5600 256MB DDR AGP
400 watt Allied power supply
Lite-On 16X DVD drive
Lite-On 52x32x52x CDRW drive
Windows XP Pro

You mean UNREACHABLE BOOT DEVICE?

This happens when you got the wrong IDE drivers, typically after a mainboard or IDE controller swap, or a HDD shuffling.

It also happens when the board's BIOS is doing silly things to the internal drive numbering whilst booting off the installation CD. On recent boards, this shouldn't be the case anymore.

Thanks TKOP. I will try changing the hard drives ribbon cable, changing the BIOS a little, and reinstall Windows XP.

Changed the ribbon cable, rebooted in Safe Mode-just to be safe. Removed the Symantec software that caused a crash and rebooted. Now everything is fine. Thanks.
