Sonic Laptop Problem

Ok, I'll sum up the incident.

Laptop was on my station, it was off but plugged in and open waiting for use. Somebody comes in and due to their Karma the station table broke and down went the laptop, beverage included...the beverage mystically stayed in the correct position to dump it's liquid contents onto the back/left hand side of my laptop, and some inside of what I think is a van vent. In my shock, I quickly unplugged my laptop and cleaned it off, wiped it down, unscrewed a panel and hdd in the back, wiped them down, took out the battery pack and left it alone for about 3 or 4 days with the panel, hdd and battery pack off.

Now for the situation at hand.

It turns on..but when it's in the windows loadup process (with the xplogo and scrolling bar) it makes a shrill high-pitched, sonic screeching whistle noise untill windows gets to the desktop. Then it stops.

I don't know what is making the sound, or what could make the sound, but I have isolated the area. The sound is coming from the left-hand side of the keyboard. About where WASD-keys are. If I cover those keys with the palm of my hand it lessens the noise.

Any idea whats under there that could produce that sound?

I've taken apart and put together PC's, but I've never taken apart a laptop. I don't know how much different it is under there, and I don't know enough to isolate the sound to a piece of hardware. Before I go bring this to a computer shop (since I dont have the money right now) I was wondering if anybody else around here has any idea of what the problem may be.

Thanks.

If no drive under there I'd say it was the fan. Distilled water maybe?
