| modem drivers needed for Aureal AU8810 Modem/Sound combo
Perhaps someone has a magic link for these.
I've searched till blue in the face..
The factory disc that came with the thing says NOTHING about a modem at all.
I've used this same modem/sound card previously with success, perhaps they included the wrong disc with this card.
Not a clue as to where the machines are with the Aureal combo cards are now |

Aureal 8810 chipset
I've downloaded about 5 diff drivers, from 700k-uhh I forget anyway NONE of them satisfy this pick W95 system.
I know about the deal, "show all files" even checked the show MS DOS extensions.
ususally I extract them directly to a clean C:\Windows\Temp file so that I can grab them easily.
This modem might be damaged and won't take any drivers.
I got it to link up on line one time at a blazing 12,000bps, usually it disconnects and says the ISP is not answering. |

I found drivers for the 8810 at Vortex of Sound. I don't know if they include the modem drivers though. Try Modemsite.com they have a link to a proggy called PCI Tree that will tell the "real chipset & maker as well as the PCI ID of the modem."
Good luck. By the sounds of it though, you should take HotRod9mm up on his offer. |

That'd be nice, before ya do please check and see if there are Modem drivers so ya don't waste your time sending just sound card drivers.. which btw I already have.
Thanks
