| Starting to make a website
First I'd like to see what programs you guys use to make your websites. I know some of you hate wysiwyg editors and you use notepad. But right now I'm using dreamweaver and it's giving me a hard time. I have this logobanner on top and i have to tables side by side underneith. Whenever I line up the second table with the banner on top and open it with IE it shows the second table sticking out on the rightside past the banner on top. This is pretty irritating...
I'm a newbie web person...i've always been a hardware guy so plz excuse my stupidity.
************************edit* I know what's wrong. How can I keep the webpage so that when it is viewed by IE the table won't be resized?????
Thx guys
~Joel

A good program I use is either Frontpage 2001 or something like that. But anouther program I'v seen to enjoy is Dreamweaver 4 i belive it is. A little harder to use that Frontpage, but it makes some good stuff! Also, if ya wanna make cool pictues and backgrouds and stuff, get Adobe Phoshop, then download the eye candy add-on. Makes some NICE WORK!
You can download these programs off newsgroups and stuff, or probably Morpheous |

Have you tried Homesite 5.0 or its free counterpart 1st Page 2000 ? They're not WYSIWYG editors... they're the best non-WYSIWYGs IMO.

I used Frontpage Express (not the best) while in Windows and then switched to Dreamweaver. I do hate Dreamweavers table bug so I used Frontpage to correct that. Now I'm getting a little more into the real HTML editing and I'm using Bluefish and Quanta Plus. Both are Linux clients. |

Personally I jump back and forth between Notepad and Dreamweaver UltraDev 4. Both methods have their pros and cons and it really depends on what I want to get done and how fast. |

I've always used Notepad, but I've also heard good things about 1st page 2000 so maybe a good step |
