PHP SQL question

Hey, i'm running an apache web server with php and sql installed.

I run apache in a console window, and to run the SQL database I run WinMySQLAdmin.

Is there some other console window or something I can run SQL in so it doesnt use so many resources, that way I can still administer it through phpmyadmin?

In short, no. The MySQL process is the one that does all the DB magic. DB are typically resource intensive.
