PHP Compiling help

How do I:

OR...all I need to know is what to do to send mail when a user signs up on my PHP site. They never receive the activation email. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

I just need to be able to send registration emails from my PHP nuke site. People can register but they dont get the activation code in the mail.

I haven't edited any of it. I don't have a webserver set up yet, so how could I set it to a pop server?

Well, assuming you are running windows and have the smtp server set to localhost, if there is no smtp server running on your comp then no mail will be delivered.

Ok im on windows, I have the gettext DLL file. When I uncomment it in PHP.ini and run the PHP application, it says there is a library file missing needed to run that application.

All i have to do is get gettext working and the smtp server will work.
