| Suggestions for free Web Authoring Progs?
Hi, I've downloaded a couple of free/open source progs and have been impressed (Open Office, Thunderbird)
Does any one know of any good Web Authoring software out there? I've looked at Amaya, but at first glance it looks a bit basic, something with basic animation would be good, and data base management
Thanks,
Phat |

mozilla has a composer built in, but i don't know if it's advanced enough for you. under linux there is quanta and more but i don't know if windows versions are available. try a knoppix cd, design your pages using the open source tools available there, and save them to your windows partition, or just upload them to the net under knoppix. a lot of the tools you find in knoppix will have a windows version available. |

Thanks Paul, not really what I was hoping for, guess I'll just have to spend some money! I did find out about this whole patenting thing that's looming on the linux web site though. That's more serious than I think most people (I mean people who don't give computers a second thought) would give credit. Stifling invention is the same as stiflinf the human spirit.
If anyone is reading this and wondering what the hell I'm talking about then look at this: http://swpat.ffii.org/index.en.html
It's serious.

WHAT are you wanting to do ?? Html ? Flash?? need a bit more info in order to help you out much......
there are many free html/text editors out there....... www.notetab.com I don't use windows anymore......but when I did, it was the best text editor I ever found...... there are other nice text/html editors also....
I'm sure a search of techimo will reveal hundreds of them...... |

I'm looking for a WYSIWYG really, with layers and animation. Flash support would be good also. To be honest, I'm looking for a free Dreamweaver, which I know is asking a lot but after seeing The Gimp and OpenOffice I started wondering if such a thing may exist. Am I just dreaming?
Thanks.
