Going to try to give Java a chance. I've taken a 6 week course on it LONG ago, so most is forgotten by now. Want to learn a new application language that isn't OS dependant like VB, and I suck at webdev so PHP is out (sadly).
SO I've looked around and found a few IDE's that are open source that I can use but wanted to get some opinions.
I'm not about to blow a hundred bucks (or more) on a full scale IDE when I won't use 90% of the functionality
If I could get syntax highlighting, error checking, and the dropdown lists for keywords that'd be great.
If its works on windows and linux thats even better.
I typically just use SciTE for code editing, but wouldnt' mind something a bit more powerful and specific to Java.
