I know what Total Visits mean
But why are the other numbers much higher and what do they mean?
BTW, here's the site www.equitablefinancialgroup.com

Monthly Statistics for August 2004

Total Files 1441
Total Pages 202
Total Visits 20
Total KBytes 8245

Total Unique Sites 7
Total Unique URLs 155
Total Unique Referrers 30
Total Unique User Agents

Thanks,
Naz

I think that the Hits is all the page (from all the pages) visits (not unique). and the Total Visits is the unique visiters that hit your site on the first page...i dont know if you know what i mean by unique but by IP address...
THIS IS WHAT I THINK IT MEANS, i am not totally sure.

Website stats just like micfau said.

Unique is low then hits, because unique gives each IP now matter how much it visits, 1 hit. Now the rest just come from overall. Unique is the true visitor number for a website.

hits is any page on a site, visits I guess is 1 vote to the homepage per IP visit, if you understand that... .I'll try to think how to better put that.
