Hello,
I have a DVD that I would like to convert to a format and size that I can use on a website.
Honestly, I don't even know where to start. I have adobe livemotion and a little bit of experience dsigning flash presentations, I figure I would just use flash. or I would just have visitors download it. or...
What kind of apps would I need to convert the DVD to a usable format? if Flash isn't the way to go, what other options would I have?
Thanks
Al

Yeah you would need the DVD-AVI converter like twendanewhite suggested (the one on the left). Oh and you might want to put down something like "Windows Media Player download here" in case the people don't have one. Just a thought...

I'm re-visiting this project and I was wondering if there is a free utility that does this? |

first off before you do anything.... How big is the dvd video file you are trying to convert and are you going to stream it or have it be able to be downloaded? if download you have to think about your bandwidth you are giving each month from your host.

I use the Gordian Knot Rippack and Codec Pack to convert to AVI. There's a bunch of guides there too, and it's all free! |

librab103 - It's a 30 minute DVD. I'm not sure if I'm going to stream it or not. I'm not even sure which way is best. hmmm.. maybe I'd want to stream it, I don't want to give the video away for free...
Ryanoffski - Thanks, I'll check that out. |

Well, if you stream it that might be a problem because of its size. Most people don't want to wait until the movie starts playing and you say you want to convert it to AVI which is make it at least 100-150mb, they will be waiting for a while especially if they are on a slow connection. |

I doesn't have to be AVI... It can be any format, so long as I can stream it on a website... |
