Free Web Server Software

I found a free piece of PC web server software that is really easy to use and works great. Its' called abyss webserver. I downloaded it at http://www.download.com

Check it out.
It's good if you want to host your own website but don't want to worry about some professional complicated package why apache or something.

Interesting. Im using very little bandwidth on my site and may want to host at home instead of paying for a link to .net backbone. Whats the name of it. The link you gave just leads one to a endless list of downloads. hehe.

I'm not trying to flame or anything, but I can't stand Abyss. I mean, it's easy to setup and run, but it serves up content very slowly. I had a forum running off of it once, and it took ages to generate the pages (like 10-15 seconds). Whereas, with Apache or IIS, it only took a mere half a second.

Uh, no thanks then. My only use for it would be forums (db speed matters) and web pages. Im using apache right now. Maybe Ill have to break down and learn it in and out. Set up my own server here. Ill have to look for some guides. You can set up one to work over ADSL right? (sorry not trying to thread crap)

I reccomend Xitami hands down, but it only comes in second to Apache.
