| Game Site?!
Ok...me and my friend are starting a "game site" such as GameSpot (I know...becoming as good as them is improbable) under the name of my site, theMexaChannel (aka Mexa). What I need is some ideas...what would you like to see that maybe IGN or GameSpot doesn't....thanks! MicFau

Show underground games
Contact the guy who made it and see if you can be able to let people download it from your site.

I notice here http://mexa.servehttp.com:8011/forum...opic.php?t=133
at 10,000 post's you get to become a future admin and at 5,000 is says why am I not a mod yet.
To me I dont think an ammount of posts will make you worthy of being a mod or admin, I think you must earn it by how you act, if you are helpfull. I'm not saying to make someone you dont really know much about a mod or admin, they should have a good ammount of psot under their belt.
Some people are not meant to be a mod or admin either and if they his 10,000 and they become a admin, they might not be as helpfull as someone with 1,000 posts who is much more reliable.
Can you make me a mod |

The first thing you'll have to remember is that there are tons of gaming web sites floating around on the Internet right now. You're going to have to come up with something that makes you just a little bit different from the other sites out there. Do you have any ideas on what that different thing is going to be?
Something that really helps draw in new viewers usually is game or hardware articles/reviews. They really don't have to be something complicated and wordy. I met a few people from GameSpot and IGN last year, and they told me a little bit about the site and what they do there. Nice guys. One of the things they mentioned was that GameSpot and IGN, obviously, wasn't built overnight, and it is good to hear that you aren't even going to try and tell yourself that you are going to be as big as GameSpot. (It is especially good to hear that you aren't trying to make a site like those other sites).
Aside from GameSpot and IGN, my third favorite gaming related site is Gamer's Hell. ( http://www.gamershell.com/) Fairly good community but lots of game demos, files, and articles posted on the site. Also met a few of them last year, and they are down-to-earth people as well.
Something that I wouldn't mind seeing on a game site is game related news and rumors. I want to read stuff that isn't as mainstream. Try to arrange interviews with PR people or game developers from different companies. Start small. Don't try and immediately e-mail people at places like Blizzard or Microsoft. If they even bother opening the e-mail, it'll most likely end up in their spam/garbage folder.

Hmm, maybe you could arrange for interviews of game creators. I would definately like that. The thing is, as you pointed out, you have to offer something that other gaming sites don't. Which is a pretty hard task, no dobut. Maybe inform readers on upcoming games, that haven't been released... Tell people how they can create their own games..?
