    Free C++ Editors/Compliers/Debuggers

    Hi. I'm a student whose writing a computing competition tomorrow, and was just wondering if there are any free C++ compliers you guys reccomend. I've used Bloodshed Dev C++, but recently my <iostream> doesnt work, and it wont let me use <iostream.h>, which is obviously a problem. I havent really heard of any other good compliers, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

    Thanks!

    If you're going to be doing the programming on a Linux system, just use built-in compilers like gcc. There is a C++ compiler most linux systems have installed too, though I can't remember its name at the moment.
    Logic shall prevail.

    Do a search on MinGW. It's a C C++ compiler / IDE. It doesn't have lots of the pretties of the bought ones but it does work.

    ^ Yea. It's really quite annoying.

    #include <iostream.h>

    Dev-C++: I dont like you, so I'm gonna put an error at your include statement, and make your program not run.

    DAMN YOU!!

    Try #include <iostream>.

    That's what I have to do for VC++ 6.0.

    for my version of dev c++ this is what i always have to do for almost ALL OF MY PROG. or it gives me a similar error
    #include<header file>
    using namespace std; //HERE IS WHAT IM CONFUSED ABOUT!
    void main()

    or w/e try that and see if it helps

    I would either go with visual c++, borland or bloodshed.

    You can get Visual C++ Express for free here.

    Oooo....

    Again, can you people PLEASE stop reccomending Bloodshed?

    VC++ Express eh'? I'll try that out

    I believe if you're using

    "#include <iostream> //notice the lack of .h" you have to use namespace std.
