Who is my domain registered with?

When I do a whois on contrabart.net it says:

Domain Name CONTRABART.NET
Registrar NETWORK SOLUTIONS, LLC.
Whois Server whois.networksolutions.com
Referral URL http://www.networksolutions.com
Status REGISTRAR-LOCK

When I whois contrabart.com.au, the domain we have a site at I get this:

Registrar ID R00012-AR
Registrar Name TPP Internet
Status OK

Anyway just for the hell of it I decided to get TPP Internet to email me my password for the .net domain and I got it, and can login and change domain settings.

So im confused, who do I goto re register the .net domain as we have been notified that it will expire in 30 days.

Seen our .com.au is already definatly with TPP could I just get TPP to make sure they register it for us as soon as it expires?

Im confused

Any input would be great

You should be able to do that yes. Talk to TPP. It would be best to get all your domains under a single registrar.

Ok thanks OuT ill put in a support ticket with them now and see that they can do.

Any clue why it says Network Solutions as the registrar but I change settings with TPP?

TPP is playing middle-man between you and Network Solutions, especially considering it is a .net top-level domain name. Very common with smaller host providers.

I do not see your provider on the Accredited Registrar Directory list.

http://www.internic.net/origin.html

TPP likely has registar status for .au country code top level domains, but must rely on a third-party like NIS to register the original top-level domains (.com, .org, .net., etc.).
