Making a MBD or MDE file into a standalone app!!

Hi,

I have created an application using vba in MS access as the front end and an mdb database as the bank end storage. I need to be able to deploy this on sysytems that don't have MS Access installed.
I have checked on internet but everyone seems to say it's not possible or you need to buy Visual studio tools for office OR MS Office developer edition.
But i am not willing to spend several hundred pounds just to deploy a single app (unless any of you know where i can get these tools for free!!).
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make an mdb file or mde file into a standalone application. There must be a way if you got windows XP installed on the system you want to deploy to.

If not, does anyone know if i used an mdb databse as a back end to a VB app would the package and deployment wizard create the app as a standalone including the database or would i still need MS Access on the computer i want to deploy to?

Any comments or suggestions welcome.

You would need to package the db and the program together, unless it grabs the database over the network.

And you can't just take an access form app and make it a standalone program. Is there a free access viewer like there is for excel and word?
