Vb pinger and name collector

i have a program that i have writen and when it does it i pings all the comptuer 192.168.1.10 - 60 and then tells me if they are on or not.
This is great, but what i now want to do it be able to get there names also off the network, does any one know how to do this?

I'm assuming you have DNS on your local network?

A DNS control I use to resolve IP's to names and vice versa.

The worst case scenario would be to put ipconfig /all into a text file and parse it... but that would be cheesy

What if you just modify your program to do 'ping -a 192.168.1.10-60' istead of 'ping 192.168.1.10-60'.

-a should resolve (if resolvable) the ip to hostname.

WMI has a great pinger that works pretty well.
