| Weird Problem With FTP - Old File Still There When Linked To
Hey all.
Weird problem this. I've been working a website for a friend and have uploaded a file to it, and then realised that the file had an error in (in this case a demo version of some s/w he's making) and so I've gone in over FTP and removed the file, then uploaded the correct one to replace it.
However if I go to the website and click the link, it's still downloading the OLD broken file even though I've cleared it off the webspace. I've even got in and totally removed the file, then gone back to site and clicked the link and it's STILL downloading the file even though it's gone!
I can see that's it not there in my FTP program, and also if I go to the directory on the site the file is in using IE I can see the file isn't there. Another thing I did was upload a new file called the same thing but it was only 2kb in size and I could see the new file in the IE Directory as the correct file and size (2kb) but when I click it, it then downloads the OLD file again (a 100mb file)
So what's happening please :O It's as though nothing I do affects the link at all. I'm baffled.
:O |

Sounds like a server problem to me.
Have you tried renaming the good file , uploading it, and see if that works? Bill in SD, CA

You mean just change the link so it points at a new file? That does work aye but was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to Will do that though if this doesn't go away. |
