| Best PAID domain hosting?
Hey all, quick question...
I'm thinking of starting a site since I seem to have some spare time lately. Without giving away too much, my site is going to have many, many video clips on it to download. So my question is:
From your experience, what is the best overall domain hoster? And by best, I mean overall price, webspace, bandwidth, uptime, etc...
I did some research on google and such but I'm really new to the whole hosting scene and I thought I'd ask you experts first, seeing as I'll be paying $$ for this and whatnot.
Thanks for any feedback guys, I'd love to get my professional site up and running ASAP

If your really planing on doing tons of video you probably should just get your own Dedicated srever. You can get them for around $60 a month. Most webhosts that you seem to be lokoing for have stuff in the rules against hosting videos but not all. If you buy a dedicated box you normally get 1 TB (1000 GB) of BW a month too which should take care of all your BW needs.
For web hosting I use: http://www.metro-host.com/
Which is operated by a local member here, siliconjunkie Great service and prices from him and if you PM him you can probably get a quote taylored to your needs
For dedicated servers I use: www.layeredtech.com |

another vote for metro-host, been running an online game, 100Gb of traffic a month, for over a year now with great support and reliability.
and as for go daddy, i hear terrible things about their hosting. domain registration is great though. |

It's actually www.canaca.com and that's where I put a website that needed hosting. My domain and email is through GoDaddy, it works great.
However, for web hosting, I'd say www.cihost.com even though it's a bit more expensive, should be worth it for what you need to do. |

Dreamhost.com's MyCrazyDomainInsaine might be something to check out.... even just to see if you like the host. I believe they still offer a deal where you use a "777" in the special code box at checkout and recieve 1 year of of webhosting for a grand total of $9.94 with no obliguations after that year. This comes with 2400MB of space, 120GB of bandwidth, unlimited databases, shell access and other stuff..... It's a good thing to check out, but may or may not suit you. |
