| Geocities free FTP-access no more.
Well Y¤(/"%#(/¤#"(/#"¤/"!!!!
I guess I will be looking for a good pay webhost now that Geocities are taking away THE ONLY reason I use their free web hosting.
First, NBCi closed down their hosting (without notifying anyone by email). And now, Geocities no longer offers FTP access to its free members.
Talk about big corporations trying to make the internet all corporate. Everything's just about making money now, isn't it?
It's time to find a good Swedish webhost then I suppose. |

actually it was always about money, they don't have huge servers running a ton of websites for free. they must have came short in terms of advertisements.
hope ya find something if you don't mind a ton of popups and banner adds all over your site then check out www.freewebz.com
my buddy runs his site from their service but in another thread where i posted his webpage URL people said it was slower than $^%$ www.clanard.cjb.net
btw what is the different between FTP and an HTML site with links to the files? shouldn't they work just the same...........

The thing I want is to be able to upload my files via ftp, and not upload them via forms on a webpage. It takes forever to sit and click and find the files you wanna upload when you have 20+ files... |

True that. You get what you pay for, but you never get what you deserve. |

Chooco: I don't think you understand what I mean. Uploading files to a server via ftp is much quicker than uploading via forms on a page on the server.
Do you want to set up an ftp server? Then you need ftp server software. |
