Help needed for accessing my webpage through external ip.

hi,


i need small information regarding web server .

My ISP gave me connection to my "LANcard" with a local ip 172.*.*.*

i dont have any static ip but i came to know that my external ip, is 58.x.x.x. and it doesn't changes every time i login.

Now, I am unable to access my webpage with external ip. This external ip is used by my isp for his home page.

please give me suggestions to access my webpage externally. Iam using IIS 5.1.

To access http://58.x.x.x./

You will need to be:

1. Coming from the Internet (not surfing from the webserver) if you are on the webserver then you will have to put: http://localhost/

2. have port 80 open on your PC and router / and or / modem

3. have IIS running

4. The ISP you use will have to allow port 80 data connections


If you want to hook a dns name up to a dynamic ip address you can go to:
www.dns4me.com

i know how to access extrernal ip 58.x.x.x

but from that i need to access my internal ip 172.x.x.x

remaind that my ISP gives connection, as iam one of the person in his lan,
i just had a lancard. i dont have any modems........

now r u understand my problem ..........

You need to route incoming requests to port 80 from the router to ip 172.blah.bleh.blih

If you can't, your isp won't.
